golf courses. Take a morning to fine tune your golf game at the Pine
Oaks
Golf club in Ocala, where they offer 4.5 acres of practice area for
golfers.
Or try one of the world class Jack Nicklaus golf courses or over twenty
executive golf curses.
Play some baseball at area parks or do some rollerblading at the Brick
City
Park course. Just outside of Ocklawaha on Lake Weir, Carney Island Park
offers 560 acres to enjoy some hiking, biking, walking, swimming,
picnicking
and canoeing or just lying on the beach sunbathing.
Enjoy a nature filled walk on the designated pathways in Ocala, or go
out to
Lake Tuscawilla Park and just relax. Take the family on a self
appointed
tour of the many historical parts of the various towns. Admire the
old-fashioned architecture and ambiance.
The Florida Trail begins in the Everglades in south Florida and winds
through the Ocala National Forest, offering some fantastic hiking
opportunities on a 1400-mile footpath.
Do some more fishing at one of the area lakes such as Orange, Juniper,
George and Withlacoochee River. These lakes and rivers are unequaled
for
their bass fishing one of more then 100 species of fish in the
region¹s
waterways. Deep sea fishing is only one hour away on either coast.

Take the family out for the day to the Silver Springs Nature Theme
Park.
Enjoy their famous glass bottom boat rides, botanical gardens, wildlife
exhibits, river cruises and cave diving.
Theme Parks and Beaches
Only an hours drive from Sherwood in the Forrest and you can be at
the
Orlando major theme parks: Disney World, Epcot, Sea World,
Universal,
Wet and Wild and many others. Or, head the opposite way for a day of
fun
and sun at one of the many beaches in Daytona and New Smyrna.

Sherwood in the Forrest is also close to Mount Dora, Leesburg, Eustis

The Villages, which affords its residents and visitors the
accessibility to
lots of nightly fun and entertainment and great shopping.
